Hundreds Protest Torch Relay in Paris

Several hundred people are protesting the Olympic torch relay on a square facing the Eiffel Tower, carrying Tibetan flags and signs reading "Save Tibet."
The activists are at the Trocadero Square ahead of the start of the relay through Paris later Monday. Police have cordoned off the Eiffel Tower, where the relay is to start. Close to the tower, police told activists to fold up their Tibetan flags and put them away.
About 3,000 French police _ on motorcycles, in jogging gear and on skates _ are mobilizing to protect the torch and prevent chaotic protests like those in London on Sunday.
